Tincture And Tonic Records

The weather outside is frightful…

I wish this weather would make it’s mind up, a combination of rain/snow/hail is not good since I have to go to the bloody job centre later…

ANYWAYS… in exciting news I’m informed I shall be getting my records back tomorrow from the pressing plant. I will post all manner of promotional garb when the time is due, which I imagine will be early in the new year. I can’t wait to get this up and running!

Went to see a good gig on Friday with the finest of Liverpool bands - Voo, Puzzle and Married To The Sea. Saw some friends, had a few drinks, good times! Should you want to listen to these awesome bands, I have conveniently linked their Myspace pages for you here!

Also I came across this record label called Built On Friendship, which I’m digging loads because the packaging is thoughtful and interesting, and they have some really good bands like Mio and Fargo, check them out  if you’re into Euro emo/screamo (before it became a derogatory term.)

More updates next week, if I haven’t passed out from all the Christmas cheer (read alcohol.) xx

List of bands you should chiggety check.

I’ve been cruising Myspace non-stop for about a month looking for awesome bands to work with. However some of them are already signed, but I reckon people should listen to them if ya dig.

Juvenescent Beat - www.myspace.com/juvenescentbeat - from Pennsylvania,  a heady mix of Braid/Hot Water Music/Jawbreaker, kinda like Jade Tree in the mid 90’s.

Lemuria - www.myspace.com/lemuria - from New York, reminds me of early Ranier Maria, driving indie rock fronted by a female, I’ve got their LP “Get Better” and it’s a beast.

My Little Pony - www.myspace.com/mylittleponyoslo - from Norway, playing twinkly indie pop, it’s like a Flake 99 on a summers day at Formby beach. Real good stuff!

Pharoahs - www.myspace.com/pharaohstheband - from good old England, they make dancey punk/indie, a bit like Minus The Bear but with less weed influence. I got the “We Tried Nothing” EP and I like it!

What Price, Wonderland? - www.myspace.com/whatpricewonderland - from Nottingham area, they play spazzy manic emo/post-punk for fans of Minutemen, Cap’n Jazz etc. Just ordered their “It Is True It Is Shakey” LP so looking forward to that.

Anchor Arms - www.myspace.com/theanchorarms - from the home of gruff (that’s Gainsville, Florida,) short songs and fairly fast. A bit like Black Flag I guess, not that I ever really listened to Black Flag. Whoa-ohs a plenty. I’ve again ordered the “Cold Blooded” LP and I know you can get everything on iTunes, so do it!

That’s all for now, more when I’m not watching the cricket! x

Oooh look at me!

Well, I figured since I’ve set up a label, I could use this to update anyone who actually cares with information about the label and it’s impending releases. I will also be recommending bands and commenting on all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff from around the world, whether it be amazing or depressing!

All the stuff about the label can be found on www.myspace.com/tinctureandtonic

Hope to see y’all soon!
